Visit to Europe

Though I visited UK earlier in the year 2008, I could not visit rest of Europe. I planned to visit Europe later, but it kept on getting postponed due to some reason or other. Finally, the plan to visit Europe was finalised in Feb 2013 and UK Visa was received in Apr 2013. However, the Schengen Visa to visit Continental Europe was again delayed till Aug 2013, due to certain domestic commitments. The tickets were booked during last week of Jul 2013 and applied for Schengen Visa on 31 Jul 2013 & obtained 03 Months Visa from 15 Aug to 15 Nov 2013.

Jet Flight was booked for 20 Aug 2013 from Hyderabad to London with change over from Domestic to International flight at Bombay. Took off from Hyderabad at 2040 h on 20 Aug by Jet Airways Flight – 9W 7156 and landed in Bombay at 2245 h. After immigration check at Bombay, took off for London at 0230 h on 21 Aug by Jet Airways Flight- 9W 120 and landed at Heathrow at 0705 h GMT on 21 Aug 2013.

Tour of South East England

The weather at London was Bright Sunny, hence the entire family, to include, all my three daughters living in London planned a four day trip to the Channel Coast (East Sussex), from Friday 23 Aug to Mon 26 Aug 2013. Started from London in three vehicles at 0900 h on 23 Aug as planned and reached Pett Resort by AN, where we booked a four room country cottage. We visited Hastings, Battle Abbey, Bodiam Castle, Rye Beach, Pett Country side to include Farms, Orchrds, walks through the woods and Pett Level Beach.

Visit Hastings Town - 24 AUG 2013

Hastings is a town and borough in the local government county of East Sussex, within historic Sussex, on the south coast of England. The town is located 24 mi (39 km) east of the county town of Lewes and 53 mi (85 km) south east of London, and has an estimated population of 86,900.

In historical terms, Hastings can claim fame through its connection with the Norman conquest of England; and also because it became one of the medieval Cinque Ports. Hastings was, for centuries, an important fishing port; although nowadays much reduced, it still has the largest beach-based fishing fleet in England. The town became a watering place in the 1760s, and then, with the coming of the railway, a seaside resort.

Visited Hastings Old Town and Beach on 24 Aug FN. Old Hastings Town with its Heritage Buildings & Cobbled streets was a unique experience. Hastings Beach, like any other on the English Channel Coast is a Pebble Beach. and NOT a Sand Beach
